About Adult Daytime Programs

The Mon Valley Career & Technology Center permits adult students to attend daytime programs that are primarily taught to high school students for the purpose of workforce development. This type of training is referred to as “intergenerational.” Adult enrollment is permitted on a tuition basis as openings permit. Openings will be filled on a first-come/first-serve basis with priority given in the following order: high school students before adults, participating school district residents before applicants residing outside of the participating school districts’ area. Full-time study consists of classes operating six hours daily, from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for 180 days during the school year. Half-time study is available by attending either the morning or afternoon session only.


  • A Pennsylvania Criminal History Check will be done online at the school.
  • You must provide a Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance and it must be less than a year old.
  • Fingerprinting is required and you must provide your RegistrationID.
  • Payment for classes must be made prior to each week of class or can be paid ahead as desired.
  • An adult/intergenerational application (below) must be completed prior to enrollment.
  • There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 to enroll.
  • Textbooks and tools are additional.
  • Cosmetology kit and books are an additional $525.00.

Tuition and Payments

Tuition rates are reviewed annually

  • Half-time – $4,050.00 (540 hours)
  • Full-time – $8,100.00 (1080 hours)
  • Cosmetology – $9,375.00 (1250 hours total)
  • Nail Technician – $1,500.00 (200 hours)
  • Hourly rate for part-time enrollees – $7.50

Individuals sponsored by Government Agencies will be accepted on approval letters from the Agency. All payments will be made in accordance with approved contracts. In addition to tuition charges, a cost for books and supplies may be applicable.

Individuals subsidizing their own tuition must make remittance in advance of the start of class. Quarterly or semester payments may be accepted by the School.

Withdrawals and Refunds (If paid in full)

Tuition will be reimbursed in the following manner minus the $50.00 registration fee. Books and supplies are not reimbursable.

  • End of 1st week 100% refund
  • End of 2nd week 60% refund
  • End of 3rd week no refund – unless stated in approved contract.
